Imagine you have been tasked with developing a system to support Remote Pair Programming. The system must allow a driver and an observer, who are in different remote locations, to both view a single desktop in real time. The driver must be able to edit code, while the observer must be able to 'point' to objects on the driver's desktop. The system must also provide a video chat facility so the two programmers can communicate, and it must let them swap roles easily and capture the rationale behind decisions through recorded video chats. Additionally, the driver must be able to instruct the system to back up old work. Using the Remote Pair Programming scenario described above, sketch a use case diagram that models the system's functionality, including the relevant actors (such as the driver and the observer) and the use cases they participate in (for example viewing the shared desktop, editing code, pointing to objects, video chatting, swapping roles, and backing up old work).Show the full question
Question 3.1 · Domain class diagrams · 21 marks
This question refers back to the system scenario described under Question 2: you have been asked to build a system that supports Remote Pair Programming, in which a driver and an observer, located remotely from each other, can both view a single desktop in real time. The driver must be able to edit code, while the observer must be able to 'point' to objects on the driver's desktop. The system must also provide a video chat facility so the two programmers can communicate, must let the programmers easily swap roles, and must allow rationale to be recorded in the form of video chats. Additionally, the driver must be able to issue a command to the system to back up old work. Using the Remote Pair Programming scenario given above (originally presented in Question 2), draw a class diagram that models the classes, their attributes, their operations, and the relationships between them that would be needed to implement this system.Show the full question
Question 4.1 · Activity diagrams · 16 marks
Consider the following scenario about the shipping department, which is used to answer question 4.1: The shipping department receives all shipments relating to outstanding purchase orders. When the clerk in the shipping department receives a shipment, he or she locates the outstanding purchase order corresponding to those items. The clerk then sends out multiple copies of the shipment packing slip. One copy is sent to Purchasing, and that department updates its records to show that the purchase order has been fulfilled. A second copy goes to Accounting so that payment can be processed. A third copy goes to the requesting in-house customer so that he or she can receive the shipment. Once payment has been made, the accounting department sends a notification to Purchasing. After the customer receives and accepts the goods, he or she also sends a notification to Purchasing. When Purchasing has received both of these verifications, it closes the purchase order as fulfilled and paid. Using the shipping department scenario provided for Question 4, draw an activity diagram that represents the process described, from the clerk receiving a shipment on an outstanding purchase order through to Purchasing closing the purchase order once it has verified both the payment notification from Accounting and the goods-received notification from the in-house customer.Show the full question
